  • How physically fit do I need to be for Wander Women trips?
All of our trips will involve a moderate level of walking around towns and sightseeing opportunities. Often trips happen in places with cobblestone streets so you should be able to walk on an uneven surface. But we are a group and no one will be left behind! Also, consider that all activities are always optional, so you can always sit one out if it feels too much. Each of our trips, though, has a Fitness Level rating from 1-3. Fitness Level 1: You do not need to be extremely physically fit but you should feel comfortable walking on uneven surfaces such as cobblestone streets, mostly flat outdoor paths and trails, and some stairs when needed. Fitness Level 2: You should be in moderate physical shape, feel comfortable walking on uneven surfaces such as cobblestone streets, outdoor paths, and stairs when needed. You should be comfortable carrying and pulling your luggage for a few blocks. You should be able to hike for up to two hours on moderate hiking terrain with a light backpack. You should be comfortable riding a bike and/or e-bike on hills. Rock climbing is optional and all levels are welcome. Fitness Level 3: You should be in good physical shape, feel comfortable walking on uneven surfaces such as cobblestone streets, outdoor paths, and stairs when needed. You should be comfortable carrying and pulling your luggage for several blocks, maybe up and down stairs. You should be able to hike for up to four hours on moderate to difficult hiking terrain with a medium size backpack. You should be comfortable riding a bike on hills. You may need specialized climbing or mountaineering skills for Level 3.
  • I'm nervous that I will be spending time with women I don't know. Are there any get-to-know-you activities?
The fact that you are even interested in a trip like this means you already have a lot in common with other women attending. Yes, there will be virtual info and introduction meetings before the trip and “get to know you” activities on the trip. The questionnaire that you will answer will also allow us to pair you with the “just right” roommate unless you already have someone you want to room with.
  • I have a group of friends who would like to join the trip. Is that ok and are there any discounts for groups?
It’s great if family groups or friend groups want to attend! It makes it even more special to have those memories. There is a 10% discount for everyone if your group fills a trip.
  • There are a lot of activities on the trip. Will there be any downtime?
Absolutely! We at Wander Women Travel believe that downtime is essential to be able to rejuvenate! We have built-in “Me Time” many days. And while you will likely not want to skip any of the amazing activities we have planned for you, you always have the option to sit one out and relax on your own.
  • Is there an option for single occupancy?
There is an option but it will cost more. See pricing details.
  • What if I have dietary restrictions?
We will send you a detailed questionnaire as soon as you have made a deposit on a trip. This includes dietary information, sleeping habits, physical activity comfort level, and more. We can accommodate almost any dietary restriction with advance notice.
  • Will I need a passport?
You will need a passport for any international travel. Be sure your passport is up to date. Any issues with passports being expired will be subject to the trip cancellation policy.
  • Should I get travel insurance?
We strongly advise you to purchase trip cancellation insurance and travel medical insurance to cover you while abroad.
  • Can I arrive before the trip starts or stay later?
Of course! This is your trip and you can make it as long as you want. We can help you with suggestions on where to stay and what to do.
  • I have more questions. Whom do I contact?
You can email info@wanderwomen.travel. If a phone conversation is in order, we’ll share our contact phone number with you in an email.
